Born out of a passion for denim and sustainability, E.L.V. Denim was founded by former fashion director of Lula Magazine turned London-based stylist Anna Foster and Kari Greaves, a London-based illustrator and vintage archivist, who source vintage jeans and transform them into modern, sophisticated styles.
Conceived as a made-to-measure label, its eponymous acronym stands for East London Vintage, the location in which the jeans are manufactured. Sourcing Levi’s, Lee, Evisu and Wrangler castoffs, the two women select the pairs based on their best wash and shape. Each E.L.V. jean is made from two parts of vintage jeans, making every product unique and different from the next. With a commitment to zero waste, they use every part of the jeans, even making hair ties out of the bottom of the hems.
