Loren Stewart began by melting down old jewellery and upcycling it into fresh new pieces for themselves and their friends. Founded in 2009 by Rachel Loren and sisters Annah and Satya Stewart, Loren Stewart made accessible fine jewellery they couldn’t find anywhere else, producing classics like Rod Earrings and Skinni Rings—core styles still available today.
Rachel Loren now oversees the company, designing from her home and yurt nestled in the hills of Mount Washington and planning production at the company’s office in the historic core of downtown Los Angeles. The trio work with local artisans specialising in wax casting, metal casting and stone setting to craft delicate earrings, necklaces and rings.
Rooted in the simplicity of fine materials and small craft production, each item is handmade with love and attention to quality and detail, with every stone handpicked and each piece meticulously reviewed by the team multiple times before it reaches the customer. All items are made of 10 karat & 14 karat gold and sterling silver (nothing plated). Their classic shapes, like disks, bars, and tubes, are crafted from Inertia punch presses and their timeless chains are custom made from vintage machines.
Committed to ethical sourcing, the brand is proud to carry its tradition of waste-free production by upcycling vintage gold. All materials are ethically sourced in compliance with United Nations Resolutions and US labor practices, and their jewellery is certified with the American International Gemological Laboratories and Assayers of Precious Materials, as well as part of the Jeweller’s Vigilance Committee and abides by US and UK Hallmarking regulations.
